Important information regarding the 2023 - 2024 season

The ALTBA Executive Board is exploring all facility options with the AL Athletic Department and third-party facilities in an effort to have regularly scheduled practices for the 2023-2024 travel season. Before registering your child for tryouts, please read the following to understand how the season will be impacted:

The fee to participate in travel basketball is $225 per player. The increase is designed to cover the cost of renting court space from area gyms.
Pricing for new jersey's for the 2023-24 season and how to purchase will be sent to parents once rosters are finalized.
Due to the potential cost of paying for practice time, teams may be limited to one practice per week. We will attempt to add additional practices in the month of November to help teams prepare for the upcoming season, subject to budgetary constraints.
Practices will be held in Avon Lake and at third party facilities located in neighboring communities.
Each team is allowed 3 tournaments, plus War on the Shore. If practices have to be 100% at third party facilities, there will be fewer dollars allocated to tournaments this year. Each team may only have limited tournaments included, subject to change as our season unfolds.
We anticipate being able to hold our annual "War on the Shore" youth tournament this season! This tournament acts as the main fundraiser for our organization each year. ALL players participating in travel basketball this season may be asked to participate in more traditional fundraising activities to help offset War on the Shore if the status of this tournament changes as the season unfolds.
